A Trip To The Past: Coconut Candy

So I decided to take a trip back to my childhood days with this simple recipe. I remembered this been one of my favourites during my primary school days and I'm not ashamed to say I did spend a lot of money on buying this snack.

This snack is extra quick of make and perfect for any occasion, it will be a blast with your guests at a party and  will surely be popular with the kids took

So here is the recipe:

Ingredients
1 cup of grated coconut
1/2 cup of sugar

Instructions
  1. Pour sugar in a small saucepan and heat on low heat for 7-9 minutes
  2. Whilst heating the sugar, keep stirring to avoid any lumps
  3. Once caramelised, the sugar should now be a golden brown colour.
  4. Pour the grated coconut and stir till it becomes sticky (should take up to 2 minutes)
  5. Set aside and let cool before you roll the candy into balls
  6. And Voila!!!! Your coconut candy is ready.

If you'd like the coconut candy lighter and less sugary; simple add 2 tablespoon of water to the sugar before caramelising.
